I’ve really enjoyed getting to know this family over the last 2 years. I had the privilege of shooting their maternity session for baby number 2, and the milestones of his first year of his life. And now, he is welcoming a new baby sibling! I couldn’t be more excited!

Enjoy these!

Grand? Yes – impressive, gutsy, brave, fierce, bold and courageous. A perfect example of a family that faced a challenge and won. AND WON BIG!!! And look how it came out…. fantastic. With lots of love and giggles and silliness, and hugs and pride and all the good things. YEA THIS FAMILY!!

I am booking fall now, can’t wait to see you and your family!

enjoy. missy

One word that comes to mind when I think of this mama is… strong. Oh, and slew of other words, too: courageous, tough, bold, positive, caring, loving, and oh so beautiful. And I mean that sincerely. This day was so fun, and spending time with her family, and her parents was exactly what everyone needed. It was just lovely.

enjoy these.

I was scrolling through Instagram the other day, and happened upon a photo of a coffee mug for sale by the Life + Lens blog. It reads, “camera coffee community”. It caught my eye, and I stopped to think about what this meant. I love cameras…I really love coffee, and… why is the word, “community” on there? Honestly, it got me thinking. I love my community. I love this little city of Hermosa Beach; my kids’ schools, our education foundation and PTO, our local businesses, our neighbors, our good causes, our grass roots efforts to stop big oil from drilling in our city, our police and fire department, our parades, art walks, beach clean-ups, our New Year’s Eve celebration, our pier, and so many other wonderful things about this “community”. I feel so lucky to be a part of it, and being able to connect with my community through taking photographs and sharing these images makes my world go around. It makes sense why these words ring so true for me, so I bought the mug, and then I had a cup of hot coffee in it, too. 😋

A visit to the tide pools at Abalone Cove Shoreline Park was where this family decided to explore, and where their family photos would take place. I love when my clients surround their photo session with an activity or a place that everyone enjoys. I loved meeting everyone, and getting to know this lovely family.

enjoy! xo m
