As a new mom-to-be, I often wondered how my life would be with a baby. Would I be a good mom? Â Would I be able to care for my children well? Â How would my day go? Â Would I be able to function normally, go to work, get to the grocery store, spend quality time with my baby/husband, exercise, and have alone time, too? Â My mind was all over the place. Â The unknown was very uncomfortable for me. Â As much as you think your plan is in place, there is so much that is bound to be out of your control.
I want to tell you about this wonderful person, her name is Melinda. Â I was so so lucky to find her on a babysitter website back in 2006. Â I can’t believe how lucky our family is to have found her…she was a part of our family for years, as she watched my 2 little girls. Â I remember her first day; I taught her how to swaddle my younger daughter, who was 3 months at the time. Â I remember Melinda just jumped right in there, and tried the swaddle herself, and laid Lily down in her crib. Â I knew I had found a wonderful and loving person to be part of our “village”. Â She even stayed at our home for the weekend so my husband and I could go out of town. Â So, so fortunate to have found her!
And now, I look at this wonderful friend and person who is about to give birth to her own daughter. Â It kind of feels like my little sister is having a baby. Â I am so happy for her and her husband. Â I love how much time and thought has gone into preparing for their little one to arrive. Â I love the details of their nursery, and the family room full of baby stuff. Â I hope that I can be of support to her as she was for me for so many years. Â Love you, Melinda!!
